It’s no secret that South Korea has an ever-growing taste for the finer things in life. Just pop into any department store, or take a stroll through one of Seoul’s shopping districts to witness first-hand the nation’s obsession with luxury.
Unsurprisingly, the country is also one of the world’s fastest-growing jewelry and watch markets, which is why the Korea International Jewelry and Watch Fair (aka Jewelry Fair Korea) has had much success since its establishment.
As the only international jewelry and watch show on the peninsula, Jewelry Fair Korea is an iconic jewel-centric event that brims with the inspiration of both worldwide exhibitors and visitors.
This year’s event will be held from April 21 to April 24, 2016 at COEX in Gangnam and promises to be the best one yet.
Following last year’s show, which welcomed 298 exhibitors from 10 countries and more than 26,000 visitors, Jewelry Fair Korea 2016 will be held under the theme “RE-BORN” and will be revived with a slew of new events and features. In particular, this year’s event will offer visitors the opportunity to experience the world of Korean jewelry through lectures on design, art, culture and style specific to the country.
Other new features include a special exhibition entitled “White Friday”; a flea market to boost the domestic consumption of jewelry with reasonably priced goods; a “Design Talk Concert” to discuss the creation of a new profession that combines design and jewelry; and a “Craftsman Pavilion” where craftsmen from throughout Korea will showcase their products and techniques.
Other key events are the Jewelry Auction, “Make Your Own Jewelry” workshop, International Jewelry Design Award Presentation Ceremony and a jewelry class for VIP guests.
Jewelry Fair Korea 2016 will host exhibitors from all corners of the globe, including Greece, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Singapore in addition to industry-leading Korean jewelry companies.
The show provides the perfect opportunity for interested parties to get broad insight into the jewelry industry, and is a fun way for those with a love for all things that sparkle to spend an afternoon.
