Seoul Searching was established in 2009 and has since become the leading expat blog about travel and culture in Korea. It has an international readership from 6 continents and receives approximately 55,000 visits per month.

In addition to sharing what you’re passionate about with an international audience, having your post published on Seoul Searching will increase your exposure as an author/ blogger and will generate an increase in traffic to your website or blog. I put a great deal of effort into promoting all articles on Seoul Searching across a variety of social media platforms and will ensure that your guest post is seen by the largest amount of people possible.

What should I write about?

As you know, Seoul Searching focuses primarily on travel and culture in South Korea so guest posts must be related. Article topics may include but are not limited to: travel destinations, pop culture, food, Hallyu-related content, holidays, traditions, personal experiences, and Korea-related events in your home country. Don’t be shy about pitching an idea… I’ll more than likely love it!

Although I try to avoid controversial topics, I do encourage you to write subjective pieces, including your own opinion. However, any content that discriminates against religion, culture or lifestyles in general will not be accepted.

What are the requirements?

Seoul Searching focuses on producing quality content so there are a few requirements that must be met for a guest post to be published. Please review them below:

– Guest posts should be well-written and self-edited for grammar and spelling mistakes. It MUST be an original article (we all know how Google hates duplicate content). Unique ideas or viewpoints on certain issues are preferred.
– A short (1-2 sentence) author bio including a maximum of 1 anchor text link to your own website should be included at the bottom of the article. Google frowns upon guest blogging as a link building technique. To adhere to Google’s guidelines for guest blogging, articles that are clearly intended as a link building scheme will be rejected. So please be thoughtful about any links you include in articles you submit for consideration.- Proper attribution of data, quotations, and other third-party content referenced in the article must be included.- Although there is no strict length requirement, average articles should be around 500-1,000 words. Posts should be as long as they need to be to be high quality and comprehensive.- Guest posts published on Seoul Searching may not be republished on your own blog afterwards (it’s that whole Google duplicate content thing again), but you’re more than welcome to link to it and share it.
– I reserve the right to edit and adapt your guest blog content to fit the tone and style of Seoul Searching’s.- The post should be submitted in a Word document with up to five image files (including attribution) attached separately in an e-mail.
